Ursus is out in force at this week’s Agritechnica show in Germany. The Polish manufacturer’s star attraction is its prototype C-3150V tractor (above); it has 150hp on tap.

The tractor is home to a Deutz engine; that’s mated to a Vigus semi-powershift transmission (with a power-shuttle). This is a 32F 32R box. Top whack on the road is 40kph.

Rear lift capacity tops out at 7t. Maximum hydraulic throughput is 100L/min.

In its ‘standard’ specification, the tractor weighs 6.9t; it is 3m high (to the top of the cab).

Ursus claims to be the largest manufacturer of tractors and agricultural machinery in Poland. Its roots can apparently be traced back over 120 years; the brand-name is synonymous with the mechanisation of Polish farming.

Interestingly, the company also now builds buses, including electric and hybrid models.

Ursus currently has three production plants – one in Dobre Miasto, another in Opalenica and the largest in Lublin. It employs 800 people.

Each year, it produces about 1,500 tractors, along with several thousand agricultural machines – sold throughout Poland and beyond.

Ursus’ Irish importer is Sutton Tractors – based close to New Ross, Co. Wexford.
