The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has now approved almost 84% of the applications made under tranche 5 of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3).
According to the latest figures published by the department, 4,876 out of the 5,823 applications made under this round of the scheme have been given the green light.
The data shows that 559 applications have yet to be fully processed, 317 have been rejected and 71 applications were withdrawn.

DAFM also said that 118 applications made under tranche 4 are still being processed by officials. 5,284 out of 5,864 applications made under that tranche have been approved.
There are now 16 applications made under tranche 3 deemed to be “in progress”. The department said 3,405 of the 3,799 tranche 3 applications have been approved.
Meanwhile, the department has confirmed that the latest tranche of TAMS 3 received 5,364 applications.
TAMS tranche 8 closed for applications on June 6, with tranche 9 of the scheme now open.
Of all the applications received in tranche 8, the highest number were for the Animal Welfare Nutrient Storage Scheme – one of the 11 sub-schemes that make up TAMS – which saw 1,692 applications.
The Farm Safety Capital Investment Scheme (FSCIS) also saw a significant number of applications, with 1,287.
The Nutrient Importation Storage Scheme (NISS) had no applications under this tranche.
