Co. Waterford Farm Relief Services (FRS) is seeking an area sales representative to be located at its Kilmacthomas branch in Co. Waterford, and who will be responsible for covering the Co. Waterford area.

The ideal candidate will have a good agriculture education and an excellent knowledge of agriculture retail hardware. The successful candidate will provide dairy/calf/beef customers with technical advice and support on animal nutrition, so as to promote and increase the sales of the product range.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will promote farm services and agri-hardware and communicate regular updates to the store manager.

Ashbourne Meat Processors, based in Naas, Co.Kildare, is looking to recruit a technical manager.

The technical manager is responsible for ensuring food safety and quality; and compliance with legal, industry, and customer standards while maintaining continuity and upholding high standards throughout operations.

Key responsibilities will include: ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards by maintaining and improving food safety systems; coordinating with regulatory authorities for legal compliance; and managing certification and customer audits, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions.

A farm located in Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand, is looking for two people for a two to three month placement on its farm operation over the busy period of spring calving in August and September.

The roster would be six days on and one day off, with both candidates having the same day off. One person will be on each farm unit.

Experience in dairy would be needed, specifically milking cows; calving cows; the ability to identify and treat stock and lame cows if needed; keeping and maintaining records; and weed control. The candidates would need to have the ability to drive two and four wheeled motorbikes.

Teagasc is seeking a research technician in sustainable beef systems. This is a full time post, to be based at the Crops, Environment and Land-Use Research Centre at Johnstown Castle, Co. Wexford.

The appointee will support the beef production and environment research programmes.

Duties will include (among others): the management of the organic beef finishing systems trial on the Kildavin Organic farm at Teagasc Johnstown Castle and related facilities; supervision of staff and students; and collection of experimental measurements pertaining to grassland management, forage production, indoor feeding, calf rearing, animal performance and environmental performance.
