Almost 490 applications for investment aid made to tranche 5 of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) are still being processed.
That is according to the latest TAMS update provided by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Tranche 5 closed for applications last December, with 5,823 applications made.
Of those, 323 applications were rejected, 71 were withdrawn by the applicant, and 4,942 have been approved so far, leaving 487 applications still to be processed.
Of the various component schemes of TAMS, the one with the most applications still to be processed is the Solar Capital Investment Scheme, with 160 applications.
The scheme with the fewest outstanding applications is the Low-Emission Slurry Spreading (LESS) scheme, with three applications - despite that scheme receiving more applications than the Solar Capital Investment Scheme.
The latest TAMS tranche 5 figures, as of yesterday (Tuesday, July 8) are as follows:

Looking at earlier tranches, there are still 103 applications to tranche 4 still to be processed, and 16 applications to tranche 3 still to be processed.
Looking at subsequent tranches that have closed since tranche 5, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Martin Heydon confirmed last month that all eligible applications under tranche 8, as well as traches 6 and 7, will be approved.
Tranche 6 closed to applications on March 7, 2025, with 4,931 applications received across the various schemes.
Tranche 7, the emergency tranche opened in response to Storm Éowyn, closed for applications on March 28, with 1,945 applications submitted for certain emergency investments.
Tranche 8, which closed on June 6, attracted some 5,364 applications.
However, given the number of applications being made to TAMS, Minister Heydon has said that limits may have to be placed on the number of applications going forward.
