Established over a decade ago, the awards provide a platform for companies and start-ups to showcase groundbreaking technology and innovation that is revolutionising the dairy farming industry.
Recognising products or services launched within the past year, the awards celebrate advancements that have significantly improved some aspect of dairy farming.
In addition to an overall winner, awards will be presented in five key categories: Science; Technology; Engineering; Sustainability and Best Start-Up.
The finalists will be selected during the AXA National Dairy Show, the premier annual event for pedigree dairy breeders, taking place at Green Glens Arena in Millstreet, Co. Cork from October 11-12.
Last year, Italian-based dairy cow health company Ozolea claimed both the overall innovation award and the science category award for their antibiotic-free mastitis treatment, Ozolea Mast, which left a lasting impression on the judges.
Using only ozonised and stabilised food-grade corn germ oil, Ozolea Mast is 100% natural and leaves no chemical residue in milk.
In the Technology category, Moonsyst impressed with their AI-powered solution for artificial insemination, AI4AI, a bolus that monitors a cow's body temperature, activity, and water intake from within the stomach.
Nesty won the Engineering award with their Irish-designed Mini Moo milk vending machine, catering to the growing demand for direct milk sales globally.
Spreadit, the Best Start-Up winner, stood out with a retrofitted attachment for dribble bars or trailing shoe systems.
DLF secured the Sustainability award with their Ecotain Environmental Plantain, a plant that reduces nitrate leaching from ruminant urine through four modes of action.
This year's award will be overseen by James Bourke from the National Dairy Show committee.
"Last year’s entries were exceptional, each making a significant impact on agriculture. I’m confident this year’s submissions will be equally groundbreaking," he said.
Judging will take place on October 11 in Millstreet, with a prize-giving ceremony that evening.
The panel of judges, each an expert in their field, comes from leading agri-businesses.
