A community event regarding plans to build a biogas plant at Ballyvass, Co. Kildare, has been rescheduled and will now take place on Wednesday, March 5.
The event, organised by CycleO Group, the biomethane platform that builds, owns, and operates plants across Europe, had been cancelled earlier in the month.
The company has said that its investment plans in Ireland are progressing, with the first sites planned in Kildare and Limerick.
The event will take place at the Talbot Hotel, Co. Carlow from 2:00p.m until 7:00p.m, giving those in the local community in the area close to the proposed plant an opportunity to learn more about the plans. Local residents can drop by at whatever time may be suitable.
In attendance will be members of the CycleO team, representatives from Gas Networks Ireland and the Irish Bioenergy Association. This team will explain the plans for the plant, along with the built-in safety and environmental protection features.
Speaking about the rescheduled event, CycleO Ireland country manager James Manley said: “We are very much looking forward to holding this open community event, as we have done elsewhere in Ireland.
"This is a chance for local residents to speak to us about our plans at Ballyvass, and to address any concerns they may have. Along with Gas Networks Ireland, we’ll also explain benefits the plans will bring to Ireland to help achieve the renewable gas targets set by the Irish government”.
Attendees at the event will be able to learn more about information that will be shared in the planning application, including noise and odour control technology.
CycleO is a pan-European biomethane platform. It currently has biogas plants planned or operating in Spain, Italy, and Ireland and has ambitions to develop, build, own, and operate at least 50 plants across Europe by 2028.
