DAFM: 680 TAMS tranche 3 applications to be processed

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has said that 680 applications made by farmers under tranche 3 of the Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) are still to be processed.

According to the latest data, published by the department, 2,809 or 74% of the 3,799 applications submitted as part of tranche 3 have now been approved.

Some 224 applications have been rejected to date by DAFM officials, with a further 86 withdrawn by the applicants.

The data shows that 114 tranche 3 applications for TAMS were approved in the past week.

The department has also confirmed that 218 applications made under tranche 2 are yet to be fully processed.

8,057 of the total 9,110 applications made under this round have been given the green light by the department.

There are 76 applications "in progress" for tranche 1 of the scheme. 7,252 of the 8,203 applications lodge in this initial round have been approved.

Meanwhile, the department issued over €1.2 million in payments to farmers under TAMS last week.

Some €895,000 was paid out under TAMS 3 and almost €371,000 was issued to farmers under TAMS 2.

More than 1,733 farmers have now received almost €17 million in TAMS 3 payments and 37,364 have been paid under a total of €460 million in TAMS 2.
