DAFM issues over €5.6m in outstanding scheme payments

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) issued over €5.6 million to farmers in outstanding scheme payments this week.

The majority of the payments, over €4 million, were made under the 2024 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC).

Almost 91,000 farmers have now received a total of €192.1 million under this scheme.

The department issued over €1.2 million in payments under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) this week.

Some €895,000 was paid out under TAMS 3 and almost €371,000 was issued to farmers under TAMS 2.

More than 1,733 farmers have now received almost €17 million in TAMS 3 payments and 37,364 have been paid under a total of €460 million in TAMS 2.

This week, DAFM issued €206,397 to farmers as part of the Fodder Support Scheme (FSS) 2023.

A total of €52.75 million has now been paid out under this scheme to 71,364 farmers.

The data, published by the department, shows that €62,000 was paid out under the Green, Low-carbon, Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS) this week.

An additional €39,838 was also issued to farmers in the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS).

Over 3,900 farmers who were participating in the scheme last year have now been allocated a total of €48.1 million.
