The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) is still processing 1,112 applications made by farmers under tranche 1 of the new Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3).
The latest data published today (Monday, March 25) shows that a further 179 applications were granted approval since last Tuesday (March 19).
This means that over 77% or 6,360 applications out of a total 8,203 have now been given the green light by the department.
The statistics show that 527 applications have been rejected to date, while 204 have been withdrawn by farmers or their advisors.
The full list of schemes under TAMS 3 with the most recent numbers of approvals is outlined below:

An additional 60 applications made under the Animal Welfare Nutrient Storage Scheme were approved by the department over the past week.
448 of the 2,494 applications made under the scheme are still being considered by DAFM officials, 1,798 have been approved, 137 rejected and 71 were withdrawn.
1,588 applications made for the Farm Safety Capital Investment Scheme (FSCIS) have been approved. 169 of the total 2,050 applications are “in progress”.
Just 9 applications under the Tillage Capital Investment Scheme (TCIS) are yet to be considered, 390 out of the 445 applications have been given the go ahead.
The Low Emission Slurry Spreading (LESS) remains the only scheme where all tranche 1 applications have been processed.
537 out of 551 applications were approved, 3 were rejected and 11 were withdrawn.
TAMS
Meanwhile, department staff are currently assessing 9,110 applications made by farmers under tranche 2 of TAMS 3, which is an increase of 11% when compared with the first application round.
Similar to tranche 1, a priority approval mechanism is available for those farmers who require urgent approval to proceed with works.
