A non-residential farm holding near Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford has sold for more than €30,000/ac.
The lands at Beaufield, Moneytucker, Enniscorthy which were divided into three lots for sale, were purchased by David Hanlon of Pelham Property acting in trust for private clients.
The lands totalled 92.4ac and sold for a total of €2,830,000 in one lot, meaning a price per acre of €30,627.
The lands are described as being of top quality 'Clonroche soil series' arable land and have "excellent" road frontage.
The sellers said: "The property has been very well maintained and is presented in excellent heart and condition.
"Lot 1 and Lot 3 have road frontage onto the main Enniscorthy to New Ross road as well as the Courtnacuddy road, while Lot 2 has excellent road frontage onto the Courtnacuddy road.
"This farm presents a rare opportunity to acquire absolutely top quality arable Wexford land in Lot sizes varing from 27.45ac to 92.42ac. A dream farm."
The auction sale of the lands was carried out by Sherry Fitzgerald O'Leary Kinsella.
It's understood the two new joint owners are tillage farmers.
Earlier this month, the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers (IPAV) released a report that stated that the cost of land is set to continue to rise due to increased competition.
The annual farm survey showed that some regions are expecting to record growth in land prices of between 5% and 10% in 2025.
The report showed that the average price for agricultural grazing land reached €13,949/ac in 2024, up 8% from €12,840/ac the previous year.
The average price for land with forestry rose by 7.8% to €6,407/ac, up from €5,940/ac. The average price for letting land by conacre stood at €268/ac.
IPAV said that long-term grazing leases averaged €299/ac and tillage ground came in at €304/acre per year.
