With prize money of €500 for first, €300 for second, and €200 for third, the class is open to all eligible male or female cattle.
Entries must be the progeny of a dairy cow from a herd in the Republic of Ireland bred to a registered beef sire. Cattle of any age can compete in the class.
Full passport details must be supplied with the entry for verification, and all entries must be haltered and led by a competent adult.
Arva Agricultural show takes place in Arva, Co. Cavan, on Sunday, July 27, with a big range of attractions planned for the event.
The Irish Shows Association (ISA) advises all animal owners who have their animals insured to extend the insurance to cover them while at shows.
According to the ISA: "We understand that it will cost very little or nothing at all, depending on your insurance provider.
"If you are one of the few who do not have cover, we would advise that you think about putting it in place."
