Heydon: €87 million paid out across TAMS II / 3 since 2016
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon has said that just over €87.4 million in grant aid has been issued across the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) II and TAMS 3 up to July 17, 2025.
TAMS provides grants to farmers to build and / or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holdings.
Minister Heydon said: "Following the success of TAMS II, I increased the number of investment items available in TAMS 3.
"Overall, the scheme has proved very popular, with an unprecedented level of applications received."
"The Animal Welfare and Nutrient Storage Scheme (AWNSS) is one of the eleven schemes available," the minister added.
AWNSS in TAMS II opened for applications in 2015, with payments commencing in 2016, while TAMS 3 opened for applications in 2023.

Seoarately, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has advised farmers who are participating in the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) that the assessment and scoring of land / parcels is underway, and the deadline for completion is August 31.
According to DAFM, non commonage land / parcels in ACRES which attract a results-based payment are currently being assessed and scored by ACRES advisors.
Scorecards were issued to ACRES advisors from June 3 2025, in respect of the land / parcels to be scored this year.
