Kerry Dairy Ireland has confirmed its price to farmer suppliers for milk supplied in March.
The processor said today (Wednesday, April 16) that its price for March milk supplies will be 51.43c/L, including VAT and quality and sustainability bonuses.
This compares to a figure of 52.47c/L announced last month for February milk supplies, which was inclusive of a base-price top-up of 1c/L.
According to Kerry Dairy Ireland, the milk price return inclusive of VAT, quality and sustainability bonuses is 56.12c/L based on Kerry Dairy Ireland’s average milk solids for March.
The processor said: "While milk production in Ireland is significantly ahead of last year, many European countries are still feeling the impact of last year’s bluetongue outbreak.
"This is helping to keep overall EU milk supply balanced, as the market tries to assess the potential impact of US tariffs on future dairy prices," Kerry Dairy Ireland said.
In other milk price announcements, the Dairygold board announced yesterday (Tuesday, April 15) that its March quoted milk price has once again been maintained at 50c/L.
This price is based on standard constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat, including sustainability and quality bonuses, and VAT.
Dairygold's announcement equates to an average March farm gate milk price of 55.3c/L, based on the average March 2025 milk solids achieved by Dairygold milk suppliers.
The board of Lakeland Dairies also decided to hold its milk price for March supplies, at a base price of 48.75c/L (at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein) in the Republic of Ireland (ROI), which is inclusive of the 0.5c/L Sustainability Incentive Payment.
In Northern Ireland, a base price of 39.8p/L will be paid for milk supplied in March which is inclusive of the 0.5p/L Sustainability Incentive Payment. The base price for Northern Ireland suppliers has also been held from last month.
