Lisavaird Food Group, part of Lisavaird Co-op, has attained 'Gold' status as a member of Bord Bia's food and drink sustainability programme Origin Green.
The group, which includes JDS Foods, Coolmore Foods, Glenmar Shellfish and Glen Aine Foods, first became a member of Origin Green just over a year ago, in June 2024.
Now, the business, which is based in west Co. Cork, is announcing it has obtained Gold membership of Origin Green for 2025, the highest type of membership a company can obtain in any given year.
According to Bord Bia, in order to obtain Gold membership of Origin Green a company must demonstrate "exceptional annual performance" in areas such as raw material sourcing; water and energy efficiency; waste reduction; packaging; and social sustainability.
Commenting on the development for the business, Lisavaird Group CEO Martin Dineen said: "Achieving Origin Green Gold Membership is a proud moment for everyone across the Lisavaird Food Group.
"This recognition is a direct result of the commitment, innovation and hard work of our teams at JDS Foods, Coolmore Foods, Glenmar Shellfish and Glen Aine Foods.
"We will continue to build on this momentum to drive sustainability, quality and growth into the future as leaders in the Irish food industry," Dineen added.
