24 contestants from around the country will be descending upon Kilkenny for the 18thannual Mr. Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny County Macra.
The Mr. Personality Festival launch took place on Sunday (March 23) in the HobanHotel. The festival itself will take place on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 in the Hoban Hotel and The Hub, Cilín Hill.
Macra president Elaine Houlihan officially launched the festival, and accommodation manager at the Hoban Hotel, Catherine Lane, was also present at the official launch to welcome the festival to the venue.
The festival is sponsored by Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services (FRS).
The reigning Mr. Personality, Mark Riordan, was also in attendance at the launchlast weekend. He represented Kerry last year.
"Being Mr. Personality over the last 12 months has been a great experience and one I truly cherished and enjoyed. The people I’ve met and the places I’ve travelled to, along with the opportunities that have come my way have been brilliant," Riordan said.
"I would like to thank my club and region, along with the Mr. Personality committee, for their continued help and support over the 12 months, and I look forward to seeing who will be Mr. Personality 2025."
The contestants will arrive at the Hoban Hotel at 2:00p.m on the Friday and will be heading out for their first group activity of the weekend. Afterwards, the on-stage interviews will kick off at 7:00p.m in The Hub, Cilín Hill.
The on-stage interviews will be conducted by MC Aindriú dePaor from 2FM. This will be followed by music from band Abbeyfolk and a DJ afterwards.
The contestants will have an early start on the Saturday morning, with private interviews with the judges. Once the interviews are finished, the contestant challenges will take place which will see contestants being put through their paces.
On Saturday evening, the contestants will be donning their suits for the banquet, starting at 7:00p.m in The Hub. The band The Fógues will play until Mr. Personality 2025 is announced at 12:00 midnight.
The DJ will continue the celebrations until the early morning.
Macra said there will be no shortage of activity during the weekend, courtesy of Kilkenny Macra, with the return of the hurling and camogie competition this year on the Saturday.
In addition, Kilkenny Macra will also host the National Volleyball finals on Sunday, April 27.
