Met Éireann has said that the weekend will be dry with plenty of sunshine as high pressure continues to dominate our weather.
The national forecaster has said that temperatures will gradually increase further during the days, while it will be chilly during the nights.
This morning (Friday, April 4) will be mainly dry with cloud and sunny spells. There will be some rain and drizzle in parts with mist and hill fog patches too.
The rain will clear to the northwest and will be followed by brighter spells. Highest daytime temperatures of 13° to 19°C, in a light to moderate easterly wind, fresher at times near coasts.
Dry for most areas tonight but cloud in the southwest could bring the odd shower. Lowest temperatures of 2° to 8° with moderate to fresh easterly breezes.
Saturday will be dry and mainly sunny tomorrow in a moderate to fresh easterly wind, which will ease later. Highest afternoon temperatures of 11° to 18°, feeling coolest in the east and northeast.
Dry and clear on Saturday night with overnight lows of 2° to 7° in light to moderate easterly breezes.
Dry and sunny again on Sunday for most places, but there could be cloudier conditions in the southwest possibly bringing some drizzle near coasts.
Highest temperatures of 11° to 18°, warmest in the west and southwest, with light to moderate east to southeast winds.
Dry on Sunday night with mostly clear skies with lowest temperatures of 1° to 5°. There will be light southeast breezes allowing some mist and fog patches to develop.
Monday will be dry with plenty of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 13° to 18 or 19° with mostly light southeast breezes.
Any lingering fog will clear on Tuesday morning, it will be dry with lots of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 14° to 19° in light southeast or variable winds.
The current outlook shows that high pressure will continue to dominate our weather for the rest of the working week bringing dry conditions with plenty of sunshine.
Met Éireann said that daytime temperatures over the next seven days will be well above average in most areas, but will be offset by chilly nights.
Mean air temperatures will still be a little higher than average generally, ranging from 0° to 2° above normal. Mean soil temperatures are expected to remain mostly unchanged.
Drying conditions will be good this week and spraying opportunities will often be good, but will be limited at times due to a brisk easterly breeze, mainly over the next few days.
The winds will be lighter from later in the weekend and into early next week so spraying conditions will be good from then.
Met Éireann said that in poorly drained soils, soil moisture deficits (SMDs) range between 2mm in the far southwest to 25mm in the east.
With mostly dry conditions over the coming week, SMDs are likely to increase by between 5mm and 15mm generally, with some further restriction to growth in most well drained soils and in other soils too in the east.
