Met Éireann has updated its Status Yellow rain warning, which will come into effect this afternoon (Thursday, October 24), to include Co. Sligo.
Heavy and persistent rain may lead to localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions in Clare, Limerick, Galway, Mayo and Sligo between 3:00p.m today and 3:00a.m tomorrow (Friday, October 25).
A Status Yellow rain warning for Cork and Kerry will also come into effect at 3:00p.m today until 1:00p.m tomorrow, with heavy and persistent rain, and the possibility of thunderstorms.
The national forecaster warns of possible localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility in Cork and Kerry between these times.

Met Éireann said more persistent rain will spread over Connacht, Munster and west Ulster this afternoon and evening, turning heavy at times with the potential of localised flooding.
Further to the east, it will stay drier with some patches of light rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures will range from 14° to 17° in moderate to fresh southerly winds, easing through the afternoon.
Tonight will be wet and breezy with outbreaks of rain becoming widespread, turning heavy in places with the ongoing possibility of localised flooding.
Winds will back northerly and increase moderate to fresh and gusty, strong in the west and southwest. Lowest temperatures will be between 7° and 13°, mildest in the southeast.
Tomorrow morning will be quite cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy for a time with a chance of localised flooding. Rain will move northwards turning lighter and patchier through the day with showers developing in parts of the south.
Showers may turn heavy or thundery at times, with a few sunny spells breaking through in the east and southeast. Highest temperatures will range from 12° to 16° in moderate to fresh northeast winds, easing later.
