Over 40% of TAMS tranche 5 applications approved

44% of the applications made by farmers under tranche 5 of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS) have been approved.

The scheme provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding.

The Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM) has confirmed that 2,534 out of the 5,823 applications submitted for this tranche have now been approved.

There are 3,018 applications still deemed to be "in progress", 200 have been rejected and 71 withdrawn from the scheme.

The following table provides the latest update on tranche 5 applications for the 10 schemes contained in TAMS 3:

The latest data from the department also shows that 307 applications made under tranche 4 are still being processed. 5,126 out of 5,864 applications made under that round have secured approval.

There are 36 cases outstanding in tranche 3. The department said that 3,394 of the 3,799 tranche 3 applications have been approved.

The department previously confirmed to Agriland that 4,931 farmers made applications under tranche 6.

Tranche 7 of the scheme is currently open for applications, with the closing date on June 6, 2025.

Meanwhile, DAFM said that an additional €800,000 was also issued to farmers in TAMS payments last week.

€791,000 was paid out under TAMS 3 last week, while a further €50,000 was issued under TAMS 2.

€55.7 million has now been paid out to date under TAMS 3 across 6,296 claims.

26,006 applications for the scheme have been approved by the department, with 8,170 payment applications submitted.
