The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) issued over €2.7 million in farm scheme payments last week.

The latest data, published by the department, shows that over €984,000 was issued to farmers under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS).

The scheme provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding.

The figures show that €906,925 was paid out under TAMS 3, while €78,440 was allocated under TAMS 2.

The department said that almost €80 million has now been paid under TAMS 3 across some 9,182 claims.

32,464 applications for TAMS 3 have been approved by the department, with 11,511 payment applications submitted.

An additional €590,000 was paid out under the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES), bringing the total issued for the agri-environmental scheme to €514.3 million.

The department said that it issued €630,000 to farmers under the 2024 Sheep Improvement Scheme (SIS).

While €271,860 was paid out to participants in the Beef Welfare Scheme.

An additional €60,280 was issued last week to farmers under the 2024 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS).

A total of €847.52 million has now been paid under these schemes to 119,648 farmers, including €38.6 million for the 2024 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers and the 2024 National Reserve of €3.2 million.

There was a further €58,760 paid out to farmers for the 2024 Eco Scheme, bringing the overall amount issued to €308.36 million to 118,755 farmers.

An additional €40,178 was issued last week for the Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC).

€42,040 was paid for the Straw Incorporation Measure (SIM) 2024, along with almost €27,000 for the Baling Assistance Payment (BAP).

The department issued a further €9,000 to farmers participating in the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS). The total payments for the 2024 OFS now stand at €57.6 million with 4,766 farmers having received an advance payment.
