The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) issued around €4.2 million in payments for farmers across a range of schemes last week.
In the week up to February 28, the department paid around €2.32 million in payments to participants of tranche 2 and 3 of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS).
So far, 37,576 payments have been made under tranche 2, bringing the total to €70,387 and 56,676 approvals to date. For tranche 3, 5,511 payments have been made, bringing the total to €2,254,562 and 23,489 approvals.
Meanwhile, the latest data published by the department shows that 4,668 (80%) out of the 5,864 applications made in TAMS tranche 4 have been approved.
Over €1 million was paid for the 2024 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS), bringing the total amount paid so far to €837.85 million to 118,918 farmers.
The BISS/CRISS figure includes the 2024 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers (CISYF) of €34.8 million and the 2024 National Reserve of €3.1 million.
A further €260,145 was paid out under the 2024 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC), bringing the total paid so far to €247.4 million to 98,640 farmers.
A total of €3,000 was paid to farmers under the Green, Low-carbon, Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS), bringing the payments to date to €1.37 billion. The department also paid a further €212,157.73 to farmers under the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS).
Another €1,959.63 was paid under the Fodder Support Scheme (FSS) 2023, bringing the total paid so far to €51.85 million to 67,619 farmers.
A total of €71,537.50 was paid under the Straw Incorporation Measure (SIM) 2024, bringing the total to €5.9 million to 1,401 farmers.
€233,978.50 was paid under the Baling Assistance Payment (BAP), bringing the total to €2.14 million, paid to 833 participants.
