Pottinger has long been looking to strengthen its dealership network in Ireland in a bid to be able to serve the entire country through local dealerships.
The latest move in this strategy is the appointment of Campbell Agri Engineering of Rassan, Hackballscross, Co. Louth as agents in the area.
Managing director of Pottinger Ireland, Diarmuid Claridge has detailed how he has been impressed by the enthusiasm and drive of Karl Campbell, who Claridge believes is strongly driven and highly enthusiastic in his commitment to serving the agricultural community.
Claridge also notes that Pottinger wishes to provide what he describes as a quality customer experience from the initial enquiry right through to purchases and after-sales service.
This is recognition of how the process of acquiring a farm machine has changed, as the legacy system of piling them high and selling them cheap fades into the distant past and a focused analysis of requirements and budget comes to the fore.
To cater for this, the modern dealer has to work with both supplier and customer in a more professional way.
Pottinger said it feels that this new partnership will fulfil the that need going forward.
Campbell Agri Engineering will only be carrying the Pottinger grassland range for north Co. Louth and the border regions, while Skerries-based Quaille Machinery Limited of Co. Dublin will still serve as the sole tillage product dealer for counties Dublin, south Louth, and Meath as before.
Separately, Pottinger has announced that at the end of July 2025, the head of its factory at Vodňany, in Czechia. Jindra Susolová, will retire after nearly two decades in the post.
Jindra led and developed the production and technology site since 2007. In August, she will be succeeded by Monika Susolová.
40-year-old Monika Susolová studied at the Faculty of Business Management at Prague University of Economics and Business, qualifying as an engineer in 2010.
She has been with Pottinger since 2011, starting off in the contract paintwork division and rising through the ranks to become head of painting technology before taking over production management altogether.
The Vodňany facility is responsible for hardening technology, sheet-metal working, machining, welding, cataphoretic dip coating, and subsequent powder coating, along with the assembly of components for soil preparation implements.
