There was a larger number of sheep on offer in Tullow Mart on Tuesday, with over 1,200 passing through the ring, according to the Mart Manager Eric Driver.
Heavy sheep were easier by about €1-2/head on the previous weeks sale, with factory and butcher lambs selling from €1.98-2.08/kg.
Store lambs over the 40kg mark sold from €88-100 head, while the lighter lambs on offer sold from €70 each and up. The majority of the 37-39kg lambs traded from €84-90 each.
There was also a number of feeding ewes on offer and these lots traded from €65-80 each, while the heavier ewes on offer sold to a top price of €102.
There was a smaller number of sheep on offer in Mountbellew Mart on Saturday, but the fleshed factory and butcher lambs on offer met with an especially strong trade.
Heavy lambs weighing 45-52kg sold from €94-104 each, while the lighter store lambs on offer traded from €72-91.50 each.
A number of ewe lambs also passed through the ring and the hammer fell on these lots from €1.94-2.13/kg.
There was also an improved trade for the smaller number of cast ewes on offer and these lots generally sold from €71-110/head. Raphoe Mart held its annual lamb show and sale on Monday and there was a good entry of sheep on offer, the Mart Manager Anne Harkin has said.
The fat lambs entered in the show and sale sold from €2.29-3.04/kg, while the lighter lambs on offer traded from €2.10-2.24/kg for lambs weighing 33-43kg.
There was also a number of cast ewes on offer and these lots sold from €45-91 each.
