Shortlist announced for RDS Sustainable Agriculture Awards

The RDS Foundation has announced the shortlist for the Circular Economy Awards and the Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development Awards.

The awards, which take place on Wednesday, April 9, celebrate excellence in harnessing the benefits of natural resources and the circular economy.

They recognise those providing products and services that use renewable materials and are designed for reuse and recycling.

The awards also highlight the work of farms and organisations who are enhancing the economic, environmental and social development of Irish agriculture and rural communities.

The full shortlist for the RDS Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development Awards is as follows:

Rural Social Impact Award

  • Athchúrsáil Arann GGA, Galway;
  • Burrenbeo Trust, Galway;
  • Cloughjordan Community Farm, North Tipperary;
  • Embrace FARM;
  • Kerry Social Farming;
  • Liskennett Assisted Activity Centre, Cork.

Sustainable Farming Award

  • Gareth Culligan, tillage farmer in Co. Louth;
  • Arthur and Larissa Preston, Swainstown Farm, Co. Meath;
  • Pádraig Fahy, Beechlawn Organic Farm, Galway.

Sustainable Rural Innovation Award

  • Oriel Marine Extracts, Co. Louth;
  • Agri Data Analytics, Co. Offaly;
  • Living Green, Co. Donegal;
  • Micron Agritech, Co. Dublin;
  • Wild Irish Foragers, Co. Offaly.
