Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for thunderstorms for three counties for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 13.
The counties affected are Clare, Kerry and Limerick, with potential impacts including localised flooding, lightning damage and difficult travel conditions.
The weather warning comes into effect at 3:00p.m tomorrow and will remain in place until 9:00p.m tomorrow night.
Measnwhile, elsewhere it will be mainly dry with long spells of sunshine today, Tuesday, and just the chance of isolated showers.
It will continue to be very warm with highest temperatures of 22° to 28°C in a light easterly breeze.
It will be largely dry overnight with clear spells and perhaps the odd shower.
According to Met Éireann, cloudier conditions will build in the south with mist and fog developing, along with the possibility of patchy light rain or drizzle, towards dawn.
Temperatures will not fall below 13° to 16° with light southerly or variable breezes.
It will be warm and humid tomorrow, Wednesday, with sunny spells to begin.
Showers or showery outbreaks of rain will push up from the south-west with some thunderstorms possible and a Status Yellow warning in place for the three counties mentioned above.
Highest temperatures will range from 21° to 25° for most areas, with light to moderate southerly breezes.
On Wednesday night, showers will continue for a time overnight with mostly cloudy conditions, and some limited clear spells developing.
It will be very mild with temperatures not falling below 14° to 17°, in light to moderate south-westerly breezes.
Mostly cloudy then on Thursday with scattered showers to begin with before long spells of sunshine break through in the afternoon and evening as showers ease.
Highest temperatures of 21° to 25° are expected in light to moderate south-west breezes.
Becoming mostly dry overnight on Thursday night as winds fall light and variable, allowing areas of mist and fog to form with lowest temperatures of 10° to 14°.
On Friday there will be sunny spells with light showers easing through the day to leave longer spells of sunshine later on.
Highest temperatures will range from 21° to 25° with light easterly or variable breezes.Looking ahead to the weekend, it looks likely to continue warm and settled with temperatures generally in the low to mid-20s and light easterly breezes.
Plenty of dry weather too, though further showers are possible at times.
