Over €1 million has been issued in Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) payments by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) this week.

TAMS 3 payments accounted for the vast majority of the €1.72 million in outstanding scheme payments issued this week, data published yesterday (Friday, August 30), show.

In total, 1,304 payments have been made under TAMS 3 to date with total payments amounting to €11.5 million. DAFM data also show that 16,826 approvals have been issued.

The DAFM also paid out a total of €305,038 in payments under TAMS 2 this week, bringing the total amount issued under the scheme to over €459 million.

Latest weekly payment data published by the DAFM show that approvals issued to farmers under TAMS 2 now stand at 56,676, with 37,646 payment applications submitted and 37,297 payments made.

Scheme payments

A further €4,462 has been paid out by the DAFM this week under the Shannon Callows Flood Scheme. To date, a total of 277 farmers have now received €750,000 under the scheme.

Outstanding payments under the Sheep Improvement Scheme 2023 were also paid out by the DAFM this week, with €80,284 issued. The total amount received by 17,020 farmers now stands at €21.4 million.

Organic Farming Scheme payments worth €15,179 were also paid out to farmers in the DAFM’s latest weekly payment cycle. In total, 3,915 farmers have now received €47.8 million in 2023 payments.

An additional €30,477 was paid out under the 2023 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC) schemes this week. In total, 99,738 farmers have now been paid €249.9 million.

A further €66,923 in 2023 Eco Scheme payments has also been issued by the DAFM this week, bringing the total amount issued to 121,320 farmers to €311.5 million to date.

Outstanding 2023 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS) scheme payments worth €128,777 were also made.
