The coming week looks set to be fairly mild, with occasional rain or drizzle, and the best of the dry weather expected over the eastern half of the country, according to Met Éireann.

It will be mild and breezy today (Monday, January 13) with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading gradually eastwards cross the country. Highest temperatures will be 10° to 13° in fresh to strong southwest winds. There will be mist and fog over hills and on some windward coasts.

It will be mostly cloudy tonight with areas of mist, fog and drizzle. It will be a mild night, with lowest temperatures of 8° to 11° in moderate south to southwest winds.

It looks set to be generally cloudy tomorrow (Tuesday, January 14) but a few sunny interludes are possible. It will be largely dry but there will be some areas of mist and drizzle, especially in southern coastal areas.

Maximum temperatures tomorrow will range from 11° to 14° in moderate to fresh southwest winds.

It will be mostly dry tomorrow night with clear spells developing in many areas. It will turn rather cool under the clear skies with lowest temperatures of 4° to 7° in moderate southerly breezes.

A largely dry day is forecast on Wednesday (January 15) with good spells of sunshine likely across the east and southeast of the country. There will be more in the way of cloud elsewhere but there will be a few bright or sunny intervals.

Maximum temperatures on Wednesday are expected to be 8° to 11° in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

It will be largely dry on Wednesday night with clear spells and just a few mist or fog patches. Lowest temperatures should be 6° to 9° in moderate southerly winds.

The weather is expected to be mostly dry on Thursday (January 16). It will be generally cloudy across the west and north of the country with the chance of some patchy drizzle in Atlantic coastal areas.

Further east and to the south there will be a mix of cloud and some sunny spells. Highest temperatures on Thursday are expected to be 9° to 12°.

It will be generally cloudy on Thursday night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the southwest, west and north. It will be mostly dry elsewhere. Lowest temperatures should be 7° to 10° in moderate southerly breezes.

Another mostly cloudy day is forecast on Friday (January 17) but with plenty of dry weather. There will be only a few patches of light rain and drizzle about, mainly in the southwest and west of the country. Maximum temperatures will be 10° to 12° in moderate southerly winds.
