The weather this week is set to be generally cool, with a mix of sunny spells and showers, or longer spells of rain, according to Met Éireann.
Today (Monday, April 14) will see some heavy showers for a time this morning in east Munster and south Leinster, but these will clear.
There will be some sunny spells today but showers in the west will spread eastwards and becoming more widespread by early afternoon. Some of these will be heavy, with a chance of isolated hail and thunder. Highest temperatures will be 10° to 12° with moderate south to southwest winds.
Early tonight, showers will die out in most areas, but there will be some further showers in the west. There will be clear spells in many areas, but it will become mostly cloudy in the east. Lowest temperatures will be 1° to 5° with light southwest to west breezes.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, April 15) will see mainly dry weather with just some well scattered showers. There will be sunny spells in many areas. However, it will be mostly cloudy in eastern counties. Highest temperatures will be 9° to 12° with light to moderate northwesterly breezes.
Tomorrow night will be mainly dry with clear spells and some showers near Atlantic coasts. It will be cloudier in the east and northeast. It looks like it will also be quite cold, with lowest temperatures of -1° to +4° and a touch of frost. Some mist and fog patches will form also, with light northerly or variable breezes.
Wednesday (April 16) will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. There is a possibility of more persistent rain near the northeast coast. Highest temperatures are expected to be 9° to 13° with light to moderate northwesterly winds.
Wednesday night will see mainly dry weather, with clear spells and just a few showers, mainly in the west. Lowest temperatures should be 0° to 4°.
Thursday (April 17) will be a day of sunny spells and scattered showers with the possibility of hail and thunderstorms. Highest temperatures will be 10° to 13° with light to moderate west or southwest winds.
Through the evening and night, there is a possibility of persistent or heavy rain moving across much of Munster and Leinster.
On Friday morning (April 18), any rain in the east will clear and the day will bring a mix of sunshine and showers with moderate north to northwest winds, and highest temperatures of 10° to 12°.
According to Met Éireann, next weekend will continue unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain at times.
