The weather is set to remain changeable over the coming days, though it will turn milder and more humid next week, according to Met Éireann.
Many areas will be dry and bright at first today (Friday, June 6) with sunny spells and just well scattered showers. It will become increasingly cloudy this afternoon with showers becoming more widespread, and some turning heavy.
The showers will merge to longer spells of rain in the west and southwest this evening. Highest temperatures will be 12° to 17° in light to moderate westerly breezes.
It will be mostly cloudy tonight, with outbreaks of rain spreading from the south-west. Some heavy bursts are possible, particularly in Munster and south Leinster. Lowest temperatures will be 6° to 10° in light to moderate southwest or variable breezes.
It will be damp or wet to begin tomorrow (Saturday, June 7), with cloud and rain gradually clearing eastwards, giving way to a mix of bright or sunny spells and showers spreading from the west. The showers will become largely confined to the east by evening.
Highest temperatures tomorrow will be just 11° to 15° with moderate north-westerly winds developing and increasing fresh at times near coasts.
The weather will turn mainly dry and clear for a time tomorrow night. Some showers will move in from the Atlantic later in the night, mainly affecting western and north-western counties.
Lowest temperatures tomorrow night are expected to be 4° to 9°, coldest in the east where largely clear skies will prevail, in light to moderate west and south-west breezes.
Sunday (June 8) will bring a mix of sunshine and showers, although it will be generally cloudier in the west and south-west. Highest temperatures will be 13° to 17° in moderate westerly winds.
There will be variable cloud and clear breaks on Sunday night along with just well scattered showers, mainly in the west and north.
Lowest temperatures will be 8° to 11° on Sunday night in light to moderate south-west breezes.
It will be often cloudy on Monday (June 9), with occasional drizzle. The best of the limited bright or sunny weather will be in southern counties. More persistent rain and drizzle will develop in parts of Ulster and Connacht later in the day.
Highest temperatures will range from 13° to 18°, coolest in the north-west with moderate westerly winds.
Met Éireann said there is some uncertainty in the exact details but current indications for Tuesday (June 10) suggest mostly cloudy conditions over the northern half of the country with patchy rain and drizzle.
There are expected to be brighter, sunnier conditions further south with scattered showers. Highest temperatures are forecasted to be 15° to 19° in light to moderate westerly or variable breezes.
