Agricultural programmes coordinator

Certified Irish Angus has announced an opportunity to join its team as an agricultural programmes coordinator, to be based at Longfield, Virginia, Co. Cavan.

The role will involve travelling and working within the catchment areas of the group’s processor partners, ABP and Kepak, including ABP Northern Ireland.

Key responsibilities will include management and development of the group’s elite breed improvement programme, and management and development of integrated Angus cattle production initiatives.

The candidate should have excellent knowledge of livestock, livestock production systems and breeding indexes; and have a high level of information technology (IT) proficiency.

Technical sales area manager

An agri-business with a substantial customer base for its ruminant feed and livestock farming products based in the greater Cork area is looking for a technical sales advisor to support livestock farmers and the area sales team.

The ideal candidate should be from the area; have a good agricultural education; a relevant third level qualification; and an excellent knowledge of milk production, livestock farming, and animal nutrition.

The role will involve providing technical support and advice to feed and fertiliser customers – plus sales colleagues – and ensuring that all customer technical queries are handled in a timely manner.

Sales advisor jobs

Agritech, the manufacturer of nutritional forage products, has a number of full-time sales advisor jobs available to cover the areas of Co. Cork and Co. Waterford.

The main responsibilities will include managing and growing the existing customer base, and distributing quality products with ongoing repeat sales.

The candidates will require a qualification relevant to the agri-industry, and knowledge and interest in agriculture.

IHFA classifier and field officer

The Irish Holstein Friesian Association (IHFA) is looking to take on a breed classifier, who are responsible for visiting farms to classify and linear score dairy cows for recording and genetic evaluation purposes.

The position, which is a seasonal role, requires understanding of agriculture and dairy farming. A working knowledge of the Holsten Friesian breed, and experience in providing farm services, are an advantage but not essential.

A full-time role may be possible also.

Duties will involve visiting farms nationwide to carry out classification, and representing the IHFA by promoting the organisation on-farm and at events.

Breed society secretary

The Irish Hereford Breed Society is seeking a secretary to see to the day-to-day running of the society and its offices.

This includes implementation of the society’s breeding programme and rules, and offering advice and guidance to breeders with queries, among other responsbilities.

The candidate should have a relevant degree in agriculture or other area with strong relevant experience, and a good understanding of the agricultural sector and pedigree cattle breeding.

Labourer/delivery driver

Dúnmasc Genetics is in the market for a part-time labourer and delivery driver.

The business said the role will suit someone who is dependable, responsible and energetic, and has experience in handling bulls.

The candidate should also be flexible and enjoy variety in their working week. However, residing within a 30km radius is essential.

Technical sales advisor jobs

Fertiliser supplier Grassland Agro is looking to take on technical sales advisors and agronomists for a number of regions, namely north Wexford; Longford/Roscommon; east Wicklow; and east Down/Northern Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advice and sales of the company product range, by developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients in the industry, among other responsibilities.

Requirements will include commercial knowledge; sales and advisory experience; and a degree in agriculture, agricultural science, or a related field.
